Videos display a brilliant blue light illuminating the sky, along with a brilliant comet fragment that provided scientists with a unique sight.
When an unexpected meteor shower lit up the night skies in these two countries, locals were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime visual treat.
The internet is ablaze with images of a big blue meteorite racing over the sky of Portugal and Spain. According to confirmation from the European Space Agency, the meteor seemed to be a piece of a comet that broke off and skipped across Earth's atmosphere at a height of around 35 miles. They said that no pieces have been found as of yet.
This meteor shower has drawn comparisons to the one in a movie called "Your Name." The main focus of the film is to save the city that was hit. That being said, this was not an ordinary occurrence and did not occur in real life.
A video of the "stunning meteor" that was photographed by the European Space Agency's (ESA) "fireball camera" was posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. But the ESA stated two hours later that the meteor was a "small piece of comet."
Some unprecedented phenomena, such as the Aurora Borealis in India, give the impression that the universe and space are conspiring something.
